Description
This model kit features 48 unpainted 1:72 scale model figures of Deutsche Afrika Korps Infantry (D.A.K.). The D.A.K. were led by General Erwin Rommel and were sent to North Africa in February 1941 when the Italians requested a German intervention after the loss of Cyrenaica. Within a few months the Axis Forces had taken back Cyrenaica and Tobruk, and had advanced into Egypt. However, short on supplies, they were defeated by the 8th British Army at El Alamein. The Americans arrival in Morocco also caused additional pressure for the Afrika Korp and were gradually forced to retreat to Tunisia in 1943.
